Club Marriott is a loyalty program offered by Marriott International, a global hotel chain. The program provides members with exclusive benefits and discounts when dining or staying at participating hotels and resorts across Asia Pacific. Members can enjoy discounts on food and beverage, room rates, and other services, as well as access to exclusive events and promotions. It is a paid membership with an annual fee of RM818, valid for one year from the date of purchase, and can be renewed annually. The program is designed to provide value and recognition to loyal guests of Marriott hotels and encourage them to continue choosing Marriott properties for their travel and dining needs.
Now, let’s see if it is worth it to become a member.

Difference between Club Marriott and Marriott Bonvoy
Club Marriott and Marriott Bonvoy are two loyalty programs offered by Marriott International, but they serve different purposes.
Club Marriott is a dining loyalty program that allows members to enjoy exclusive benefits and discounts at participating hotels, restaurants, bars, and lounges across Asia Pacific.
On the other hand, Marriott Bonvoy is a rewards program that allows members to earn points for their stays at participating Marriott International hotels worldwide. Members can redeem these points for free nights, room upgrades, travel packages, and other rewards.
While Club Marriott is mainly focused on dining benefits, Marriott Bonvoy offers more comprehensive rewards for hotel stays. However, Marriott Bonvoy members can also earn points for dining at participating restaurants and bars within Marriott hotels.
What are the benefits of Club Marriott Malaysia?
- 35% off F&B at All Day Dining restaurants in Malaysia
- 30% off F&B for other restaurants with up to 10 people in Malaysia
- UP to 20% off F&B in all participating hotels and resorts outside Malaysia
- Up to 20% off Best Available Rate in participating hotels across the Asia Pacific
- 20% off Spa Treatment in participating spas in Malaysia
- E-Vouchers
Marriott Bonvoy elite members used to receive up to a 20% discount on dining, but now there is no elite member discount and the benefit of up to a 35% discount at Club Marriott is more valuable.

I used this free night certificate at the Westin Desaru Coast Resort, so I paid an additional MYR140, plus MYR100 for an upgrade because I wanted a room with a sea view. The total cost was RM240. I checked the Marriott Bonvoy app for the same room on the day I stayed and it was RM880 including tax. If you check the app on other days, you might find Friday and Saturday are over RM1000, so using the free night voucher on those days would be a great value. Maybe the value of the one-night free voucher alone is more than the Club Marriott membership fee.
We dined at the Beach Bar during our hotel stay and redeemed a free bottle of wine and an MYR50 cash voucher. The wine was Wolf Blass Bilyara Sauvignon Blanc worth about RM60, so in my case, one night at the Westin Desaru Coast could have been worth more than RM818.
Updates* The free bottle of wine is no longer being given out, but instead, free cocktail/mocktail vouchers for up to 4 people are available.
I redeemed my free birthday cake voucher at Courtyard Penang and received a large chocolate cake. I can also use the cake voucher for a friend or loved one and it’s great for birthday parties. Just note that this voucher needs to be booked at least 3 days in advance.
The free buffet voucher will be of great value when used at the Le Meridien Kuala Lumpur or Sheraton Imperial. The price of the dinner buffet at Le Meridien is RM198 and the price of the dinner buffet at Sheraton is RM198. If you use the free buffet voucher at Le Meridien, it is worth RM396. Using the voucher at the Westin Kuala Lumpur also is a good idea as the price of the dinner buffet is RM188.
Don’t forget to check the hotel* 【Review】The Westin Desaru Coast Resort Malaysia
Bottom line
Depending on how you use the vouchers, you can increase the value of Club Marriott. In my case, I am satisfied with my membership in Club Marriott because I got almost as much value out of the free night voucher as the annual fee for Club Marriott. If you want to maximize the value of Club Marriott, you should not make the mistake of choosing the wrong place and time to use the vouchers.
