HoteLux is a paid membership hotel reservation app specializing in luxury hotels.
It is similar to other services such as classictravel.com. But there is a question, is it worth paying fee to use HoteLux? I think many people are wondering since the official app does not provide detailed information. Let’s find out!

The biggest difference between Hotelux and other OTAs is that Hotelux specializes in luxury hotel reservations, and while hotel bookings through OTAs do not earn hotel loyalty program nights or points, you can earn them when you book through Hotelux!

HoteLux vs official website

Let’s compare HoteLux with the official hotel website.

hotelux compare with official

Compare prices and benefits on the official Four Seasons Kuala Lumpur website and Hotelux for Saturday, November 12, 2022(Just random day I picked). It’s hard to see in the picture, so I’ll write out the benefits of each one.

Four Seasons official website

  • 20% off our Room Rate
  • Daily breakfast for two at Curate
  • Parking space for one car
  • 25% savings in all of our dining outlets
  • 25% savings on all treatments in the Spa (excludes retail purchases)

HoteLux

  • Daily breakfast
  • Room upgrade(subject to availability)
  • Welcome amenity
  • USD$100 hotel credit
  • Official site benefits are also included

Even though the benefits are so different, the price is the same on the official site and Hotelux at RM1532 before tax. And the cancellation policy was the same.

Now let’s look at the another example, Park Hyatt Bangkok. Date compared is the same as above, Saturday, November 12, 2022.

hotelux compare with hotel official

The lowest official price is THB11,475 with 100% deposit upon booking and non-cancellable. The price with breakfast was THB15,000.

HoteLux

  • Daily breakfast
  • USD$100
  • Room upgrade(subject to availability)
  • Welcome amenity
  • Early check-in and Late check-out(subject to availability)

The price was an attractive THB13,500 for a reservation that could be cancelled up to 7 days in advance.

Last example, The Ritz-Carlton Millenia Singapore.

hotelux compare with marriott official

Marriott Bonvoy official website

No benefit booking through official from this rate.

HoteLux

  • Daily breakfast
  • USD$100
  • Room upgrade(subject to availability)
  • Welcome amenity
  • Early check-in and Late check-out(subject to availability)

The room rate at Hotelux was SGD$610, the same as the official rate. However, the official site does not include breakfast, if you choose the rate with breakfast from the official website, the room rate will be SGD$690, which is SGD$80 more expensive than Hotelux, and even you are a Marriott Platinum Elite member, you will have to pay for breakfast booking through the official site because the Ritz-Carlton Singapore is not part of the Marriott Bonvoy.

In addition, The Ritz-Carlton, Singapore’s exclusive promotion offers an additional SGD$200 for a minimum three-night stay in a suite with Club Access. Exclusive promotions vary by period and by hotel, some hotel offers a free third/fourth night, free afternoon tea and etc…

These are just examples, but you may want to compare with the official website each time since the deal on Hotelux may be more expensive.

Partner with HoteLux

hotelux partner hotel

If you are a Marriott elite member, I think you always consider staying at a Marriott property, but with Hotelux, you can stay at partner hotels and get the almost same benefits as an elite member. Thses are the list you can book and stay through HoteLux.

  • Marriott STARS & Luminous
  • Four Seasons Preferred Partner
  • Hilton Impresario
  • Hyatt Privé
  • VITA by The Leading Hotels of the World
  • IHG Luxury & Lifestyle
  • Shangri-La The Luxury Circle
  • Mandarin Oriental Fan Club
  • The Peninsula PenClub
  • Rosewood Elite
  • Virtuoso

Conclusion

HoteLux is a convenient app for booking luxury hotels, and the rates themselves can be more affordable than the hotel’s own staycation packages, so you need to compare them by yourself every time you make a reservation. Also, exclusive promotions offer packages that are only available on Hotelux, so it’s a great idea to stay luxury hotel using exclusive promotion!

It would be my pleasure if you would use my referrals when you register for Hotelux.

Ritz Singapore does NOT participate in Bonvoy so does not matter if you are plat as status not recognised and also does not earn points / nights. Do your homework!

    • LivingHotel LivingHotel says:

I thought every Ritz-Carlton brand on the Marriott apps participate Marriott Bonvoy. Now I see the Ritz Singapore doesn’t participate Marriott Bonvoy, so Hotelux is might be more valuable since they offer complimentary breakfast, USD100 credits and etc. Thanks for the info!

may i know what is the USD100 where to use at ?

    • LivingHotel LivingHotel says:

You will receive a hotel credit equivalent to USD$100 in the currency of the country where you are staying. For example, if you receive a hotel credit of USD$100 at a hotel in Singapore, you will receive a hotel credit of approximately SGD$130, depending on the rate. Hotel credits can be used for restaurant, spa, etc. It depends on the hotel.
