Booking
Hilton Maldives Amingili just opened in July 2022 and is the fourth resort in the country, following Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi, Conrad Maldives Rangali Island, and SAii Lagoon Maldives (Curio Collection by Hilton).
Hilton point for the day I stayed is 110,000 points, which is quite an intriguing point value. For cash, that’s 793 USD + 22% tax for a premier room, so if I stay that day with points, the point value is approximately 0.88 cents/point (USD).
According to the 2023 hotel points value table, this stay was definitely a better value for the points exchange, so of course I booked with point!
Check-In
The transfer from The Ritz-Carlton Maldives Fari Islands, where we had stayed the day before, went very smoothly and without any waiting time.
The speedboat cost 369.60 USD/person including tax, in addition to the accommodation fee.
The speedboat is a bit small, but it has wifi and toilets, and we were able to get Evian water.
It took about 25 minutes by speedboat from Velana International Airport to the Hilton Resort. And we were welcomed with generous hospitality upon arrival at the resort!
When We arrived, instead of going to the reception, Gem took us around the whole island in a buggy to various places and took us straight to the Villa where I would be staying!
One Bedroom Overwater Pool Villa
The villa was located furthest from the reception.
This is the villa we are staying in!
The villa was 154 square meters in size with private pool and every piece of furniture is brand new!
Rooms are very large and can be reserved for up to 3 adults in one Villa.
The part of floor is made of glass, so you can see the crystal clear sea even from the room, and I saw elongated fish here every time.
Couldn’t ask for a better view!
There is also a shower outside.
After the rain, seagulls are hunting in the ocean right in front of you.
Complimentary capsule coffee and tea (Dilmah) were available in the cabinet.
The bathroom was modern with beige marble walls and floors. The vanity was equipped with two large mirrors with built-in LED lights.
And from the large bathtub you can see the ocean on the horizon.
Dental kit, cotton pads, sanitary bag, dental floss, mouth wash, loofah, shaving kit, shower cap, comb and body lotion are provided.
Facility
There is a public pool right in front of the Aura Pool Bar, from where you can also see the ocean on the horizon!
Especially recommended at night, you can see the beautiful starry sky from this pool!
The stars are lighting up the heavens!
Of course, there are beaches all over the island.
The gym is not very big, but you can get a good cardio workout while enjoying the view of the coral reef.
There were several staff members at the kids club at all times to take care of the children.
The Kids Club has a PS5 for everyone to play with.
The dive center is located near the reception where you can rent snorkeling gear for free, and since it is far from Viila, tell Gem and they will deliver it for you!
The photo studio offers a variety of photo requests to capture memories of your stay at the resort. You can also get a complimentary 30-minute photo shoot during your stay.

Even with last night’s heavy rain, the next morning the water is crystal clear like this and you can enjoy snorkeling!

There were lots of colorful sea fish and they didn’t seem too afraid of humans.
Evening cocktails only for Hilton Diamond Member
Thankfully, the resort invited us to an evening cocktail at Sip between 4pm and 5pm, exclusively for Hilton Diamond members.
With live music, we enjoyed this evening cocktail while relaxing with the sound of the waves!
It was excited to see three baby sharks come right in front of Sip.

The sunset from the Sip and arrival lodge was spectacular.
With a romantic touch, the magic hour blossoms blue and gold.
Dinner at the Habitat
There were three options for dinner, Habitat, Origin, and Aura Pool Bar. I came to Habitat because I wanted to have dinner while watching the sunset!
This tuna stake is absolutely scrumptious especially with sauce.
The seafood fried rice was a bit bland.
Breakfast
Breakfast is served buffet style with Maldivian, Chinese and Western dishes at Habitat.
Sparkling wine is also offered in the morning and I asked the staff to mix it with orange juice.
All the food was delicious, especially the chapattis, curry and tuna flakes!
You can also choose a floating breakfast in your villa for a memorable breakfast.

– I booked the rooms myself. Will the breakfast still be included since I’m a diamond member?
– Is the event at the Sip for diamond members exclusive every day?
– Are snorkeling equipment provided or do you have to rent them?
– How did you arrange the trip form the Ritz to Amingiri? I am thinking about doing the same. I would be going to Amingiri first then to the Ritz.

– If you are a Hilton Diamond member, breakfast is included at the habitat, and you can also get a floating breakfast once during your stay, but the selection of breakfast are limited , so breakfast at the habitat is recommended.
– I don’t know if it was every day, but it was done every day during my three-day stay, so it could be every day.
– Snorkeling gear can be rented for free at the dive center, or just tell butler and he’ll bring it to you.
– Don’t worry, If you e-mail Hilton and Ritz Carlton in advance, they will arrange everything for you, including boat times and check-out time. They will bring you to the Velana international airport first then transfer the boat for the Ritz Carlton.

Thank you for the reply. Very helpful. Did you find the Ritz experience any more interesting than at the Amingiri? I am still pondering whether to go the Ritz or not. If its similar service and amenities at both resorts, I would just elect to not change venues then.
If your vacation is short, you may only consider to stay at the Hilton, but if it is long, I would definitely recommend staying at the Ritz-Carlton.
The Ritz-Carlton, Maldives has the highest standard of service of any resort I have stayed at.
The architecture is breathtaking in person. The villas are not huge compare to Hilton Amingiri, but all the fixtures and furnishings exude a sense of quality. I could spend all day in the villa’s pool or on the large sofa and never get tired of it. Sunrise overwater villas have a view of the horizon that stretches forever. The villas on the sunset side have boats coming and going, so if you want to take your time and enjoy the view, the sunrise overwater villa might be better.
My favourite event at the Ritz-Carlton is the sunset ritual. This is a traditional Maldivian ritual which is to say goodbye to daytime and hello to night. No matter how many times you see it, you will always be amazed at the beauty of the ritual!
Breakfast was not included in our stay because we used points, but we could order a la carte if we ordered the buffet, which was a good value. The buffet did not offer a wide variety, but the quality was high.
