Hilton Petaling Jaya, which took over the management of the Jaya Puri Hotel in 1982 and completed its renovation in 1984, is conveniently located in a commercial district 15 minutes from Kuala Lumpur by LRT and 45 minutes from Kuala Lumpur International Airport.
Booking
I booked at the rate of RM236 excluding tax from Hilton’s official website. Since this Hilton is located in the commercial district, the accommodation price is about RM40 cheaper on weekends compared to weekdays, which is great for weekend travelers!
Arrival
Upon arrival, they were offered a complimentary one-level upgrade to a King Executive Room Plus. The Diamond member benefits in this hotel are :
- Room Upgrade
- Access to the Executive Lounge
- Complimentary breakfast
The hotel is divided into two buildings.The building is complicated because it is divided into the west and east wings, but the staff nicely showed me where my room was located.
King Executive Room Plus
The rooms are 32 square meters in size and the hotel opened in 1984, so the furniture is quite old.
On the cabinet, a coffee and tea(Lipton) set were provided.
The bathrooms were warm-colored and had a shower stall and a bathtub.
Toothbrushes, shower caps and body cream were provided.
Facility
The hotel is located in a commercial area so there are no bushes around, but there are plenty of tropical trees in the pool area, which is a good idea for relaxation.
The Hilton Petaling Jaya features a well-equipped fitness center. The fitness center has a full range of machines and free weights, including Smith machines, cable-cross machines, and cardio machines that are second to none at the Hilton Kuala Lumpur.
I liked that this gym is membership only and hotel guests can use it for free.
Evening Cocktails at the Executive Lounge
The Executive Lounge is located on the top floor of the East Wing.
Not many hot meal choices, but there were many lite bites!
Alcohol was available in white wine, red wine, vodka, whiskey and beer!
Breakfast
Breakfast is served buffet style with Malay, Chinese, Indian, and Western dishes at the Paya Serai restaurant
