【Review】Mercure Langkawi Pantai Cenang Malaysia

The first Accor Hotels resort in Langkawi opened on April 1, 2022. Located in Pantai Cenang, a short distance from the busy beach, the resort offers easy access to tourist attractions.

Booking

I booked through Trip.com again. I really wanted to book using Accor’s website to earn points and night credits to become an elite member, but unfortunately, the price on Accor’s website was RM434, while on Trip.com it was an attractive RM392.

Accor has the Best Price Guaranteed, but Trip.com was about RM42(9.3USD) cheaper than the official website, with the only difference was the pre-payment. Since I booked two days before my stay, it was not much difference whether I pre-paid or not, and I made sure that my application for Best Price Guaranteed would be rejected, so I booked with Trip.com.

In addition, Trip.com was also offering 11% cash back for booking through their cash back website, so in total I was able to book about RM85(19USD) cheaper than Accor website.

Check-In

We arrived at the hotel at 1:30 p.m., but even though it was before 3:00 p.m., we were able to check in because the room was available.

Upon check-in, we were given a drink voucher to be used at the hotel bar, so we could relax at the bar before heading to our room.

Superior Room

The room was 28 square meters in size, the hotel had just opened and the furniture was new. But there was a problem that the bathroom smelled from the moment I entered the room.

Small balconies are available in all rooms.

In the cabinet, a coffee and tea(Dilmah) set were provided.

The minibar has complimentary drinks.

It’s a shame because the bathrooms are new, but they have a smell.

Toothbrushes, shaving kit, sanitary bag and body cream were provided.

Facility

There is a pool in the middle of the hotel, surrounded by beach chairs for sunbathing. A bar is located next to the pool where you can relax with a drink, and during happy hour, draft beers are available from RM5!!
