The Hotel Majestic Saigon is located in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, with a rich history dating back to 1925. The rooms are elegantly decorated and come with modern amenities such as air conditioning and Wi-Fi. It is situated in the heart of the city, within walking distance of popular attractions and near the financial and commercial districts, making it suitable for both leisure and business travelers.
Booking
When the hotel does not belong to a giant hotel brand such as Marriott or Hilton, I always compare prices on the official site or OTAs such as Trip.com or Agoda. Among them, I consider cancellation policy and breakfast availability and make a reservation at the one with the best offer. For this stay, Trip.com had the most attractive price of RM464, so I booked there.
Check-in
I used Grab to get a cab. In Vietnam, it is very convenient to find a driver as soon as you call Grab. There is no parking space in front of the hotel, so we had to get out of the car and take our luggage out of the back of the car as soon as we arrived at the hotel because the road in front of the hotel is very busy.
Check-in was smooth and although I had paid for my stay in advance, I was charged a deposit of only US$1. I did not use room service, so it was returned after check-out, but this is my first experience with a deposit of only US$1.
The doorman was very helpful in taking me to my room and explaining the facilities.
Colonial Deluxe Room
The high ceilings make the rooms more spacious than they appear, and the furniture and furnishings in the rooms look like exhibited works of art.
There is not a variety of coffee and tea, but there is the least amount of coffee and tea needed.
The elegant bathroom had a functional shower and bathtub combined. The edge of the bathtub was so high that I almost fell when getting out of the tub, so care must be taken.
While the number of places that provide many bath amenities is dwindling, the Majestic Saigon provides them in a fancy bag with its logo.
Facility
As the hotel was built in 1925, I would not expect too much, but surprisingly there is a pool and a fitness gym.
The pool is crowded in the early evening and it is best to get there early to get a beach chair. And be careful, the deepest part of the pool is up to 2.4 meters deep, so you should keep an eye on your kids.
The gym was located next to the pool and was a small room with functional exercise machines, plus a Smith machine!! You will never be out of shape.
Breakfast
Breakfast is served at the Breeze Sky Bar, and if you go early in the morning, the sunrise from across the river and the view of the iconic Landmark81 can be enjoyed while having breakfast. Seats along the river are especially popular, so get there when breakfast is ready to start.
Breakfast was a buffet of Vietnamese, Western, and Chinese cuisine. All the dishes were good, I particularly enjoyed the Vietnamese pho. They make the pho right in front of you and you can choose chicken or beef.

Conclusion
Saigon has several colonial-style hotels, perhaps the Majestic being the most well-known. There are several photogenic areas, including a small lift, a spiral staircase, and a view from the bar, which allowed me to enjoy not only a relaxing stay, but also the atmosphere of the old days. The location is in the middle of Ho Chi Minh City so it is convenient to go anywhere for sightseeing.

Comments
We check in on February 15 2023 around 7pm, reception guy is very rude, unprofessional and he is a liar telling us our room was upgraded with a very nice room and nice city view.
It’s not a nice and old room with a horrible view.
Breakfast was not good for a five star hotel (tree star hotel only).
Most of staff are not friendly and unprofessional
Will not recommend to anyone and will never come back!
