Booking
I booked this hotel from GHA for RM900, Parkroyal Hotel is one of the participating brands in GHA, so if you have a tier in GHA, you can get the member benefits. You can also make reservations through the official Parkroyal website, but the price was the same and you can enjoy member benefits if you make a reservation through GHA. I have no idea if you can get GHA member benefits by making a reservation through the official website.
Check-in
I arrived in Langkawi from an early morning flight from KL, so it was around 10:00 when I arrived at the hotel. Check-in for Titanium members is available from 11am as soon as there is room ready, but I did not expect to check in that early. Because it was full of people when looking around the reception area. I didn’t mind not being able to check in at this time because my plan was to just drop off my luggage and go to the cable car.
When I returned from the cable car around 14:00, I thought I could finally check in, but were told that our room was not yet ready, so I waited about 20 minutes more.
I had walked a lot during the cable car trip and worked up a sweat, so I wanted to check in and get to my room as soon as possible, but it was busy and I had no choice.
However, the receptionist was very helpful and got us a room that was more than a double room upgrade.

Deluxe Ocean View Suite
I had reserved a Deluxe King room, but thankfully as a GHA Titanium member I was upgraded to a Deluxe Ocean View Suite.
The room is in the corner and is large enough to be a true Suite.
When you first enter the room, the light is so bright that you don’t even need to turn on the lights with the sunlight pouring in through the large windows. The living room has windows to the east and north from which you can see the city and the beach.
The bedroom is located to the west and is illuminated by the evening sun through the window. There is also a balcony, from which you can go directly to the pool to play, which is a big plus. There is a large bathroom next to the bedroom and the wet area is more than large enough. There is also a large bathtub in just the front, no doubt you will relax in the bathtub here after you finish having fun in the pool.
Many resort hotels in Langkawi offer free drinks in the minibar, and this hotel is no exception. These drinks are complimentary, so you can enjoy them while relaxing in the room.
Facility
There are two pools, one of which is located on the fifth floor with direct access from the rooms. This pool overlooks the Andaman Sea and would be a great option for relaxation. The other pool is on the ground floor, next to the restaurant. This pool is larger and has playground equipment for children to play. You can also go directly to the beach from the pool.
In addition to the pool, there are other areas for kids to enjoy, including a playground, a game room, and a kids’ room, so kids will never be bored at this resort. The game room had a PS5 and a Nintendo Switch, which is great for not only kids, but also for youngsters to play.
Stressed out from playing games? Then no problem, just exercise at the gym. The gym here not only has cardio and machines, but also free weights to relieve stress. Also, there were not many users, so you can exercise to your heart’s content.
Breakfast
Breakfast is served at the CASSIA restaurant next to the pool. There were not many kinds of dishes, but there were many desserts and fruits, and we had many desserts with a cup of tea.

Bottom Line
Pantai Cenang has always had few global hotels and only recently opened the Mercure Hotel under Accor hotel. There is some news that Sheraton and Curio colletion by Hilton will be opening in the near future. I think this area still has a lot of potential for development, and looking forward to seeing more hotel competition in the future.
