The Westin Yokohama is located in the Central Business District with easy access to Japan’s largest Chinatown and Sankeien Garden, and is a 25-minute drive from Haneda Airport. All 373 guest rooms feature Heavenly Beds, and floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the Yokohama cityscape.
Booking
I booked the room for ¥33,561 including tax, which is a slightly higher price than the Sheraton Yokohama. However, the Sheraton Yokohama has been in business for 24 years, and the Westin Yokohama was only about ¥10,000 more than the Sheraton despite being newly opened.
Arrival
I decided to walk to the Westin because Google maps showed the distance from the Sheraton where I stayed the day before to the Westin was close, but this was a mistake. The road was quite complicated and it took me longer than I expected to get to the Westin.
It is also a bit far from Yokohama station, so it would be better to call a cab.
The ground floor is the entrance only, with a large atrium space. The reception is on the 23rd floor, but since we are Titanium members, we check in at the Club Lounge on the 22nd floor.
The benefits of Titanium membership at this hotel are :
- Room Upgrade
- Lounge Access
- Choice of 1000 points, Complimentary Breakfast for 2 or Lite Bites
We arrived at the hotel around 2:00 p.m. and were able to check in early, but we were tired from the walk, so we relaxed in the lounge before heading to our room.
Club King
New hotel opening in 2022, so of course it’s brand new! And with floor-to-ceiling windows, the 42-square-meter room is bright!
Air purifier is also brand new!
The room is on the top floor as a guest room and has a slight view of the Yokohama Harbor.
On the cabinet, a capsule coffee and tea(Dilmah) set were provided.
Bathrooms have a modern design with gray tiles, a shower stall and a bathtub.
Toothbrushes, shaving kit, sanitary bag, comb, vanity kit, body puff, shower caps, body scrub towel and body cream were provided.
Facility
The indoor pool was beautiful and photogenic. And there’s a jacuzzi and sauna, perfect for relaxing! However, users of this pool will be charged an admission fee of ¥2,200 starting January 2023.
With a wide range of free weights and cardio machines, the Westin’s fitness gym will not disappoint guests.
Afternoon tea at the Lobby Lounge
Afternoon tea will be held in the Lobby Lounge on the 23rd floor with a great view. Depending on the weather, you might to see the Mt. Fuji but unfortunately it was a bit cloudy so we could not see it. Window seat is always popular because of Mt. Fuji, so it would be better to get there early for afternoon tea.
We couldn’t get a window seat, so we sat in the middle with a big pumpkin in front of us and waited for our afternoon tea.
Many teas to choose from!!
Since Halloween was coming up, the desserts were adorable with ghost and bat designs.
Evening Cocktails at the Club Lounge
The lounge is located on the 23rd floor with a view of Yokohama Harbor from the window. And this lounge is huge! There are various seating options, including table chairs and sofas, so you can find a seat you like.
There are a wide variety of hot meals, and the food tastes as good as if it were a restaurant or better. I have had many evening cocktails, but this lounge may be the best so far!! Also the staff makes many kinds of cocktails right in front of you, and they are great!
After evening cocktails, it was cake time, and the evening cocktails were so great that you no longer need to go to a restaurant for dinner!
Breakfast
Breakfast is served at Brasserie du Quai or Club Lounge for Club Room guests.
In the Brasserie du Quai there was a buffet with western and Japanese food as well as many types of salads and desserts.
