Located just a 10-minute drive from the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Malacca, the Doubletree by Hilton Melaka is an ideal starting point for guests looking to explore and discover Malacca’s culture and rich heritage while enjoying the excellent service and amenities offered in the hotel.
Booking
We booked the Doubletree because of its high floor overlooking the beautiful city of Melaka and the Straits of Malacca. The room rate at the time of booking for the King Guest Room was RM309 without breakfast, which is a slightly expensive than other hotels in Melaka.
Check-in
There is an Element shopping mall next to the DoubleTree, but it was closed when we visited. The ground floor of the hotel has a luxurious lobby with plenty of couches to relax on. The reception is on the 12th floor.
I arrived at 1:30 PM and was able to check in early, maybe because I am a Hilton Diamond member. The official Hilton website does not list early check-in or late check-out as perks for Diamond members, but in my experience you get those perks only if it is not crowded.

We were originally upgraded from a King Guest to a King Deluxe, but when we checked in we asked if we could have a Suite Room. And we were fortunate enough to be upgraded to a Suite Room!!
Before going to the Suite, we had a welcome drink in the Axis Lounge on the same floor as the reception.
King One Bedroom Suite
The suite is located on the corner and spans 100 square meters, with a spacious living room, bedroom, and bathroom all separate from each other.
Located on the 26th floor, the room overlooks the beautiful city of Malacca and the Straits of Malacca.
The sunset over the Strait of Malacca was also truly breathtaking.
The work desk is large, as is the room.
Beside the work desk, a sugar set, a capsule coffee and tea(Boh) set were provided.
This king size bed was comfortable for a good night’s sleep and we were almost late for breakfast!
Needless to say, the washrooms are also fabulous. It was elegant marble with two basins.
The round bathtub in the bathroom is by far my favourite. It takes a while to fill up with water because of its size.
A toothbrush, shower cap, sanitary bag, mouth wash, body lotion, shaving kit and vanity kit are provided.
Facility
There is an outdoor infinity pool on the 13th floor where you can swim and enjoy the city views.
A kids club is located next to the pool and offers a variety of activities, including Nintendo Switch, board games, and a TV room for watching cartoons.
Well equipped fitness gym is located on the corner, where you can enjoy the view from the 13th floor while exercising on the cardio and cable machines!
Steam and sauna are also on the same 13th floor as the gym, perfect for after workouts!
Breakfast
As a Hilton Diamond member, breakfast at the makan Kitchen on the 12th floor is complimentary.
Breakfast is buffet style with a choice of Malay, Chinese, Indian, and Western cuisine.
