The Hilton Kota Kinabalu is located just a 10-minute drive from Kota Kinabalu International Airport and within walking distance to the city center.
Booking
I booked a Hilton located close to the airport because I had an early morning flight the next day. It was a slightly more expensive RM322 compared to the nearby Marriott and Le Meridien, but since the points night was less valuable at 20,000 points, I paid cash for the stay.
Check-in
We used Grab taxi to get to the hotel. Maybe it was because during the Covid-19 pandemic, there was no doorman and there seemed to be less staff in the hotel. Since there were few guests, the stunning chandelier in the shape of a water droplet stood out even more.
King Premier Room
The rooms are 43 square meters in size and have king bed in middle.
There is an electric kettle, coffee and tea in drawer.
The bathroom was warmly colored and the shower room was big enough for comfort.
A toothbrush, shower cap, sanitary bag, shaving kit, body cream and comb are provided.
Facility(Pool, Gym)
The pool is on the rooftop, so there is a nice view and a nice breeze. There is also a bar and grill next to the pool where you can have lunch or dinner.
At night, it becomes a fantastic and mysterious pool.
The gym is big and has all kinds of equipment. There is also a Smith machine so you can train hard.
Breakfast
The restaurant “Urban Kitchen” on the Ground floor will be the breakfast venue.
There was a wide variety of food available, not only Malaysian, but also Chinese, Indian, and other cuisines.

Bottom line
We did not have any special experiences at the hotel and stayed there because of its proximity to the airport, for the price we could have chosen another hotel.
